Just talked to a guy today who has just had his car delivered( a 1.6 147), he bought it as an import from a company in Slough. He wanted it brought up to full uk spec, the first thing we did was fit locking wheel nuts, whilst in the workshop we noticed the display had not been set up. As a dealer, we reset it for him changing the language, clock , date and all the other metric settings back into imperial. All of course free of charge. The interesting thing is, if the vehicle had a fault the owner would have been informed in Italian, now this could have been very dangerous indeed. Now admittedly the guy saved money, but he received a car which had not been pdi'd properly and could have been dangerous. He was not happy and the importers didn't give a monkeys, he came to our dealership and got good, free advice, was chuffed to bits with our customer care and attention to detail. He told us he would not buy an import again and in his words, the money saved was not worth the loss of faith in the suppliers and therefore the car. One back for the dealers?????
