v6 exhaust

my back box is nearly dead on my 156 and i want to replace it with something with a little more noise.
my only concern is that i've been in cars with sports exhausts before and you cant hear yourself think and as i do regular long journeys i only want something thats gonna drone and boom on the motorway but does sing when i boot it.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Re: v6 exhaust

i bought my 156 with a supersprint exhaust - quiet when you're driving normally but sounds wonderfull when you drive in a 'spirited' fashion

can't comment on how long it lasts etc as twas already on her when i bought.

Re: v6 exhaust

I've got a cybox system, its fairly quiet at 65-70 ish, but when you boot it it does roar, really its a bit much, its very loud at tickover and I'm sure my neighbours aren't keen.
It also does give extra torque lower down, it starts to pull at about 3K now instead of 4K, and it does make the car more forgiving at lower speeds, I can pull slowly up a gradient in 6th at 20mph now, My recomendation (if you want to keep it sensible)would be stick with a std one and possibly get a induction kit/freeflow air filter as a lot of the noise is induction rather than exhaust-indeed search for the GTA Induction pipe thread.

Sadly the STILO is for sale, I've now got a Renault Master beavertail
I pop in here to have a look now and again-but don't know what to say
