You have to have the Connect Nav +. For some reason this is quoted as seperate prices on alfas web site but its a compulsory fit on connect nav+ making it nearly £1400. Its used for voice memo and recognition as well.
You beat me to it George.
As G147 says, I have a boot mounted MP3 hard drive. I get about 150 cd's at a time onto it. Plenty of choice. New models are now available and have been tested with 80gig drives, that would give you over 1200 cd's in your boot if you filled the hard-drive. Of course the downside is the initial expense!!!
Sounds much better. I dont travel enough to want a navigation system! How much are we talking for one of these mp3 jukeboxes? Can you control it via the standard dash interface or does it use its own remote control?
The system I got (M-Station) has now been replaced but can still be got for around the £230 mark. It's replacement has a 20gig hard-drive and can be connected to your home hi-fi as well but the cost is £399 at the moment. Bigger hard-drives are available for extra of course.
The unit uses its own remote and a seperate display on the dash for the selection and programming of tracks etc.
If you need more info, let me know and i will e-mail you.
My CN+ dosn't play MP3s, however it was an *early* one (I think even before the official UK launch date!) ~7 months ago. Since then the MP3 add on has appeared on the spec sheet, probably a feature to be found only on the newer cars. Ho Hum. Have people with CN+ been having trouble with their CD autochangers, mine keeps on doing some *very* strange things, like forgetting that it has a disc in slot one of the changer.
