guys, the V6 is sort of 30 years old isn't it? First started up in Sept 71 (same year and month I was born - my God, my twin's a V6 engine!). It was then shelved for nine years because Alfa couldn't afford the tooling to make it. Another project well budgeted for.
It finally went into the Alfa 6 in 1979/80 and then hellllloooooo baby, in 1980 it made the GTV party party party big time.
I absolutely love that engine to bits. I can't quite get my head round how bits of metal spinning and hitting each other and exploding can sound so soft and gentle; at low/medium revs, it truely makes delicate musical notes and not mechanical ones. It's just smile inducingly, spine tingly, soddingly, sound-tastic. I'd probably hug it if it weighted a bit less. In fact, I'd probably marry it it could bear kids. I'm going to lie down now.
