"Alfa will provide stiff competition for the long awaited Ford Focus RS when the 147 GTA is launched in early 2003. Bolstered by strong sales and critical acctaim lavished upon the 156 GTA, the ultimate 147 will take the performance concept one stage further. It will retain the gorgeous 250bhp 3.2-litre V6 from the 156 GTA but insiders have confirmed that the chassis setup will be totally uncompromising in its quest for driver satisfaction. The success of the Subaru and Mitsubishi's rally-derived supercar slayers has proved that there is a significant market for no-frills sports cars and alfa wants to be the first European Manufacturer to grasp the metal.......Expect it tosmoke to 60 in a tad under 6 seconds and run to 155mph......6 speed manual or selespeed and cost around £23000.
OH MY GOD!!! Where do I sign!!!!!
After the rave reviews of the 156 GTA I reckon this ones going to be a stormer.Fords Focus RS is going to have some stiff competition, and at 23k,even Aisha might say thats good value!Heres hoping!
You do not want anyone to know you can do o-60 in the blink of cats inner eyelid. It simply isn't stylish. That you can and do when you have to demonstrate to that 318 Compact on your rear bumper with its indicator on trying to pass in stationary traffic is another matter.
Subtle has its virtues.
I'm going to wait for the 147 Sprint when I change next time.
Have to agree with Damian when are we going to get past this tacky max power gay spoiler and skirt ****e?
Will be very interesting to see how they shoe horn the 3.2 into the engine bay and deal with the front end weight probs, I have complete faith as always though! Finally I bet as with all legendary Italian car's you will be able to write a book on how to do a cam belt change on the little beauty, taking bets now on engine out!
Well, the reason the 147 is as heavy as the 156 is that they've used cheapers materials (aka steel, for some components, like seat mounts and some trailing arms...) I'm thinking they'll replace these with light ones on the GTA?
