Selespeed warning light on and loose's drive!!! again!!!!
I am new to this site but I am desaparate for any help any members can please give, with any one having the same problems.
I have a Alfa 156 Selespeed, 2.0, 1999 on a V Reg and done 70K and last year, I had major problems, one being the Selespeed gearbox, it kept jumping out of gear when driving, not great and dangerous.
I had the Selespeed ECU replaced, so everything ok for a short time and then it started with the same problem again, so had to take to another Alfa garage and they replaced the actuator approx last October.
But this last week the Selespeed warning light flashers, but no buzzer, and I have no drive for a short time and high rev's, so I assume it drops to neutral, but then it will engage gear again and it seems to happen in manual and city mode.
Unfortunately both Alfa garages I used have now closed down, so I am stuck where to go as nearest Main dealer Alfa is quite a way away.
I am in no way mechinally minded, just very very basic, but I am hoping it might just possible be low on either Selespeed oil (Tutela CS Speed Oil) or gearbox oil. Could this be possible with the problems I am encounting!!!!!! Sorry it is a bit long winded.
Cheers for ANY help.
