Re: LPG Should I or Shouldn't I
I had a 156 2.0 TS converted about 7 years ago.
The engine ran OKish, but power was slightly down. I used to switch to petrol if I wanted a slight boost.
The MPG dropped from 30 to about 24.
Also, the tank was not big enough - you can only fill them to 80%, so keep in mind that you'll probably only get 250 miles out of a 65L tank. And it took ages to fill up with LPG. There will be petrol cars turning up, parking, filling with petrol, paying for it, visiting the loo and driving off while you are still standing at the pump. Oh, and sometimes there's a queue for the only LPG pump.
The savings are OK, but also keep in mind your system will need servicing every year - and unless you regularly pass LPG stations, you cant always assume it will be running on LPG. And then there's the extra mileage in getting to filling stations.
I had another car converted later with a more modern system - it was not much better - don't be fooled into thinking you wont notice the difference!
