I've just about got used to the 156's brakes now. They do have an overservoed feel at low pedal pressure, you just need to adapt your braking style. The scoob has feel as soon as the pedal is touched so the Alfa just feels grabby in comparison.
I'm finding it great fun once you get above 4000rpm, dynamically it isn't as good as the scoob as you say but once you get used to the front wheel drive chassis its suprising how fluid the handling is. I'm finding I can carry more speed into a corner than I could with the scoob which compensates for the lack of grunt out of the bends.
I'll be taking the 156 along to the scoobynet meet at Gunthorpe Notts on Sunday 7th April so I'll see how it compares on the road with some of the 200+ Impreza's that'll be there. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]
