Bah, just had my 147 in for a service and they told me that (bear with me here, I'm about as mechanically minded as a block of wood
) one of the brackets holding the exhaust 'on' has snapped. This in turn means that when the exhaust gets hot, it begins to bend in on itself and dislodges the catalytic converter thingy. He said this will not only effect emissions but also performance and fuel consumption. He also said that it's going to cost ~ £400 for the replacement part
, he also said that they had a 147 in last week with the identical issue, and the customer managed to source the part from the internets for ~ £250, which sounds like a much better option imo
So the question is: Does anyone know where I can get the cat exhaust part for a '02 147 1.6 TS? I've had a quick look myself but I really am completely
hopeless at all of this, I have very little clue as to what I'm looking for
Any help would be greatly appreciated, it really would.
Sigh. Bang goes my holiday this Summer. It's a good job I love my Alfa... any other car and it'd be off for a part-ex
