Air flow meter fault, help please
Hello all, I have had a 156 2.5 V6 V reg, for over 18 months now, love it but costs a lot to keep it going. Had it into an Italian Car repairer not so long ago and they said i may need a new Air flow meter as i was occasionally getting a fault light come on and the engine was idling a little shaky. When i started the engine it simply would not move anywhere as fast as it should but if i turned off the engine and started again it would clear and everything was fine again.
Can anyone tell me where this is situated so i can have a go at unplugging/cleaning before spending more money on the wrong things as in the past. . Recently had all new belts fitted and new exhaust from mid section all the way to rear. Sounds like the exhaust is coughing/spluttering but eventually seems to kick in and move but definately a loss in terms of acceleration.
Any ideas would be more than welcome and gratefully received! every garage i take it to seems to be frightened of even talking about an alfa V6!
