Last night I had an intersting experience regarding the Selespeed System Failure Warning (SSSF).
I was driving on the dual carriage at about 80, and all of a sudden the car started to judder, displayed SSSF and then came to an halt. The fuel warning had just come of about a minute before and was showing that there was one notch to go. The selespeed did work at this point so I changed down through the gears till I stopped.
As andymackk says I turned off the engine and tried to restart the car. Immediatly I got the SSSF, and then after a couple more attemps I got a Warning Range Limited message.
I was stuck with no ideas so I called out the AA. They were going to just drop the car off at the dealers and told me to book it in 1st thing in the morning. As I suspected a shortage of fuel, I managed to get them to agree to take me to the nearest fuel station to refill.
After refilling I tried to start the engine but got the SSSF again. On the next try the car started! So I dismounted the car from the truck and had a ride around the station. Everything was fine again and I got back on my way.
So not only am I getting continuous ABS/VDC Failures but now this! Does anyone have any thoughts on what could have caused this? The simple answer would to be that I ran out of fuel and I have a dodgy fuel gage, but if this was the case would I really be getting the SSSF?
Don't get me wrong this issue is only a little complaint compared to fun that I'm having with the car, but would like to know you guy's thoughts on it.
