Black smoke with JTD and air filter question.....
On my JTD, I get a fair bit of black smoke which is obviously a common problem on diesels generally and it seems to be even more so on some JTD's than others.
I've changed my AFM, changed my airfilter, cleaned out my EGR and also where the EGR fits onto the engine and I use injector cleaner stuff(Millers) regularly.
Is there anything else I can change/do to decrease the amount of smoke?!
I was wondering about getting a BMC CDA airfilter to let more air in to maybe reduce the black smoke, would that help?! I know the black smoke is unburnt fuel coming out of the back, so if more air goes in, does less smoke come out as the mix will be less rich or will it be the same as the airflow meter will sense more air and give even more fuel resulting in the same amount of black stuff, but slightly more power?!
Thanks in advance,
