I have the exact same problem - slight rattle from within the centre air vent-stops if you hold your hand on top of it. From what I've heard, things like this are v.common, but I'd love to hear anyone's solution for it - dealer dismantled it and put it back together again - stopped it for a could of weeks, but now it's back again..
Has anyone tightened the rattling dashboard nuts which are not reachable from the air vent by removing the windscreen? Is it possible that way? The noise is starting to get on my nerves and I'm planning to do that although my windscreen is fine...
Barny113 - how did you access the allen screw ? Do you have to remove the windscreen vent ?
There are a couple of screws under the vent (those black ones in the picture I linked) which you can check. The vent can be removed easily using a screw driver or some other flat tool. Be gentle though, the plastic clips may break easily...
But that's not all. Some screws are invisible under the dash (gray ones in the picture above). That's what I'm asking, if anyone has reached them somehow without disassembling the whole dashboard?
had a rattle/buzzing noise after about 70mph, seemed like it was centre of dash.
Took out heater control & speedo and couldnt stop it.
It was the scuttle trims outside, I removed the wiper arms to find most of the plastic securing clips had come off the panels. I refitted them & also lubed the wiper linkage, noise now gone !
Hope this helps
