Oil Emergency - Advice / Help needed!!
To set the scene, I'm about 200 miles away from home - with oil just about 2mm above the low dot on the dip stick.
For reasons of forgetfulness & stupidity I forgot to buy/bring any Selenia with me.
So, can anyone help with a plan to get me home. Basically all the Alfa/Fiat dealers are shut at this time on a Sunday . . . The way I see I have 3 options :-
1 - Will another 40w10 synthetic oil from somewhere like Halfords mix ok with the Selenia already in the sump?
2 - If I drive at a constant 3k revs, with cruise control on I might be ok. But, I'm a fair trek from home though!!
3 - Catch the train and don't chance it
I suspect that there must be another 'compatible' oil that I could pick up from Halfords, as long as it is the same chemical makeup and viscosity as Selenia 20K?
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
