I don't believe they compete, which I guess is down to them not having a suitable car to be competative with. Judging by their touring car forray a few years back, if they were going to try their hand at rallying they would most definately want to win. Mind you if they ever made a 4wd 2litre turbo 147, they would be a step closer.
Historically though, Lancia have always been the rally brand, and Alfa the track.
Yeah I know what you mean, but I'd rather not see an alfa at all, than see one getting its ass kicked by all and sundry. You could for example put a 1600 145 into a rally, but then it would be up against 106's and Saxo's. Much smaller and lighter cars.
When I really think about it rally does not really suit the image of Alfa which as you say comes from the racetrack and is associated with the likes of Ferrari.Alfa have nothing to prove with their heritage.Perhaps thats why they left that to the Quattros. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
