Re: How-to remove release bearing in 156 2.5 v6 clutch
You don't need to use a centering tool to line the clutch plate up, but the plate must be dead center. It is prudent to check that the clutch plate actually fits the splines of the input shaft before fitting it to the flywheel, saves embarrasment later. If the release bearing is stuck to the pressure plate then I hope you are replacing the whole clutch (bearing, pressure and friction plate) as the bearing should still be cliped onto the release arm in the bell housing, if it's stuck to the pressure plate then belt it off with a hammer, it's the only way, but like I said, you'll need a whole new clutch kit.
