Which is faster: 156 or 147???
I've been trying to figure this out for ages... how can a car thats smaller, and lighter, having the same horsepower be slower???
E.g... 147 1.6 TS: 120BHP, 108 lb ft torque... 0-60 = 10.6
E.g... 156 1.6 TS: 120BHP, 108 lb ft torque... 0-60 = 10.5
The 147 has a power to weight ratio of 102 bhp per tonne while the 156 has 99 bhp per tonne.
With the 2.0 litre: 147 has 122 bhp per tonne while the 156 also has 122 bhp per tonne (??) but the 156 does 0-60 in 8.8 while the 147 is 9.3????
I dont know but i think alfa doesnt want the 147 to look as if it's better than it flagship 156... although i dont know for how much longer it'll be a flagship, since loads of company cars are reverting to 147's.
Either that or they hired a BMW driver to do their maths!!
