147 engine?

Just wondering if anyone knows weather a 146 1.6 engine will fit in a 147 1.6? And has anyone done it?

Re: 147 engine?

I am pretty sure its a different block. The 1.6 in the 146 is a short stroke version of the 1.8 (as per 156 etc)

The 1.6 in the 147 is larger bore version of the 1.4 that was originally fitted to the 145/6.

So the 147 block is slightly shorter.

Re: 147 engine?

It depends which of the 1.6 engines you are looking at for the 147

and which of the 145/6 1.6 engines you want to replace it with!
