156 Turbo gone again. Arrivederci Alfa?!
Maybe someone can convince me otherwise, but I'm giving this car back. Nearly killed last night when the Turbo suddenly went (again) overtaking a lorry. No power, had to tuck back in and lucky there was no vehicle at speed coming up in the rear.
Have the 156 JTD 2005 for only six weeks. Fell in love with it. Last week got that dreaded 'Motor Control System Failure'. Took it back to the garage and they said it indicated a turbo sensor but it seemed ok. Drove it away and the next day, same thing, only this time the power went. Brought it back for the weekend and they returned it saying the light hadn't come on and it drove fine. I asked them had they changed the censor and they said they had. Last night, the turbo just died in a very dangerous place on a motorway. Barely crawled home.
Garage took it back this morning and swore they would check it inside out.
Can anyone tell me if this loss of power - happens approaching about 100km/h - is a serious issue or a faulty sensor? My work takes me into some remote places and I need a reliable car.
As I say, love the Alfa and planning to upgrade next year, but God do you need the worry?
