Idea Re: 156 wont start

If I remember correctly, there are two fairly large positive cables which attach onto the starter moror terminal with the 13mm nut. I think the most likely thing is that one has been left off.

Re: 156 wont start

Thanks Ally but all wires were connected but she refused to fire up,i disconnected the battery for a while, then reconnected it and away she went?......however another problem has arisen!! Was not running to well on no4 cylinder so i eventually isolated the problem to no 4 injector when i took the injector out it was blocked with rusty flakes! then emtied out the injector bar more rust and muck in there i have flushed this out and cleaned the rest of the injectors and the car is now running fine,am now fitting in line filters as well as replacing alfa filter.

Re: 156 wont start

So the engine is cranking but not starting?

Is the code light on the dash going off when the engine is cranked?

If not then you have an immobiliser issue.

If the light is going off, I would guess you have a crank sensor (TDC sensor) fault. This may have been damaged during the starter motor change, as it is very close to it.
