Some of you can't have the technology to use the higher octane fuels. IT HAS MORE ENERGY IN IT AND MAKES YOU GO FASTER. I can't bring myself to use regular 95 ron in my 1990 12v 3 litre as it just doesn't go as well. You may need to go on a long run, get it warmed up, flush out all the old rubbish fuel, and give the addatives chance to lubricate, clean the injectors, and increase compression, before you notice the difference.
If not then there is something wrong with your car, i.e. the engine management can't use the increased energy to make more power. As for tescos, 99 ron good, but less addatives as they are expensive, so mix it with Shell or BP 97/98 ron.
I have always found that at the same speed, it costs the same as I use less fuel, but it makes it easier to overtake suits in bemeers.
