Re: New to this..JTD upgrade
Quad! hello mate! how is the 156 working out for you? Got all the problems sorted?
Really enjoying it thanks Mitch, surprised at how I find it much more 'useable' than the 166. The HVC controls are much more intuitive than the ICS, you don't need to take your eyes off the road. The ride is so much smoother as well, those lovely looking 17" horseshoes really nobbled the ride on the 166.
Making progress with the engine. The "Oh, he's made a nice job of that, taping the pipes together to stop them chafing" turned out to be to disguise the fact that one of the connectors to the vacuum valve, controlling the variable geometry of the turbo was snapped off! So now I've got some grunt between 1500 and 2500. Unfortunately not much after. Still suspecting EGR valve, but not sure, our code reader is knacked so can't interrogate her.
Did CV boots on Friday, got a right sweat on wi that, everything was chuffing tight. Got the tracking sorted yesterday - steel bolt / eccentric washer seized in ally subframe shocker! Got that freed off and tracked her up. It had been looked after by a stealer technician on the side and think he must've been using Alfa settings - 4mm toe out on the back, double!! you should see the state of the tyres.
So now being teased by all the re map threads, no fundage for that in the near future 'fraid.
Quadcamboy? Has anyone seen 3 camshafts lying around anywhere?
