Help Alfa 156 Twin spark cam timing

HI everyone.

I need some help with a Alfa 156 Twin spark, I got a book to get the cam timing marks but they only tell me how to replace it but not where the marks are?

Please help

There aren't any. You need a set of cam locks and a dial test indicator to find top dead centre.

No timing marks.
You need a set of the correct Alfa camlocks.

I got mine from £28+VAT IIRC. You also need 4 M7x50mm bolts, which are rather rare... I found some on eBay, but paid £5 for 6. I've seen them for less, but can't remember where...

Re: Alfa 156 Twin spark cam timing

Yo MAN, don't go that route, unless you have the proper tools to change the cam belt. I went that route and it cost me dearly. Besides if you have it doene by the dealer then there is a warranty on the work(if engines blows up they pay) If you do it yourself then you don't have that gaurantee unhless your pockets are deep.

You also have to keep in mind the balance belts, if not alligned correctly then you will have a engine not sounding like it should.

What I am trying to say, If you don't have the proper tools, rather not go that route of changing it yourself.
