throttle problem

99 156 2.0TS

car is ticking over and surging between 2 and 3k rpm

diagnostic computer shows fault with throttle sensor

wheres the throttle sensor?

now i have a spares car but its a 1.8TS
have changed the big black box on the side of the throttle body but no change
car is still acting up

theres a flat box on top of throttle body with two plugs have changed this but the one from spares car is not working car wont start with it

at your own risk (im no expert) i would

a. clean throttle body with carb cleaner (easy on the valve springs)
b. check throttle cable is not snagging anywhere near the throttle body
c. do a throttle reset - key in ignition - 90secs at MAR, 90 secs off position, 15mins idle (dont touch throttle)
