Cheers guys, really appreciate the comments. Unfortunately, servicing was outside the spcified 12,000 miles so Alfa and AA are not honouring the transferred servicing / warranty - got a discount because of this.
Haven't been able to track down any shops locally that have jump leads in stock so am getting the AA out tonight to check the car over and give it a jump start. I've also spoken with an Alfa garage who said that any damage / reset of the ECU and warning lights that may occur after a jump start can be avoided by leaving the donor battery connected for five minutes after starting the car. Hope this all works!
I guess I should have done a more thorough job checking it over before parting with my cash. D'oh!
