Howzit all. New to the forum although I had been checking out the posts for a couple of years before registering.
I have a W reg 156 2.0 T-Spark in classic alfa red which I've owned for 2 years. She has 106k miles on the clock and had her cambelt service at 79K just before I bought her with 80k on the clock. She has been problem free (apart from a front wishbone replacement a year ago) up until a couple of weeks ago. I was on the motorway and noticed the red injector warning light (red nozzil light with spurting by the 8 on the rev counter) was on however the car appeared to be running normally. I kept my eye on it over the next 2 weeks and it came on for a while, then went off, came on again for a while, went off, and so on. There is no noticable difference in her performance when the light is on or off. A couple of months ago I did notice a very slight shudder and drop in the idle revs on start up, and I do mean very slight. This only happened in idle after starting and stopped when the engine starting warming up.
In my efforts to skrimp and save for a holiday, I did let the fuel level drop a few times in the last few months until the Fuel warning light was on and in one case just made it into a garage to refill.
I am by no means a mechanic nor do I have an understanding of mechanics, apart from the basic oil check, coolant check and top us as required. I am very keen to still take my holiday and not have to give my holiday funds to a garage! Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated.
