Re: 147 Oil use
I've got a 2.0 TS 156 so I expect it is the same/similar engine.
I am told that they are designed to use oil, which is sprayed onto the crowns of the piston which cools the engine and reduces emissions. (don't know how true that is)
The two dots on the dipstick represent 1 litre of oil. Mine uses about 1 litre every 1500 miles. Some cars use more or less, but it shouldn't use much more than that. It is a common thred with Alfa ownership.
I would ensure you use the right oil as well. For the 156 it uses semi synthetic 10/40. I presume it is the same for a 2.0 TS 147. It should be Selinia 20K oil, but that is proving difficult to get so I now use Magnatec.
I keep a note of the mileage under the sunvisor when I top up so I know to check it about 1200 miles later. Get into the habit. Theres only about 4.5 litres total in the engine so you could run it dry in no time and then you'll have big problems
