Argh!!! You are right!!! I believe you can only fit the metal impellor pump (GTV V6) to another V6 model. Ie: 156 2.5 V6.
Yep. The GTV 3.0 V6 "metal impellor" waterpump should be fitted to 156 2.5 V6, 166 2.5 V6, 166 3.0 V6, GT 3.2, 147/156 GTA, GTV 3.2 V6 when any of these are in for a cambelt change, as they will probably
have the plastic impellor waterpump fitted from the factory. Although a few people on here have said some late model V6 powered cars were fitted with the metal impellor waterpump from the factory.
How much is that costing mate as I'm getting mine sorted soon?
You aren't going to do it yourself with Simon then? Mind you, you'd probably end up swapping it for the Coupe..
I'd say waterpump every other beltchange on a TS/JTS.
So that is every 6-years/72000miles for the waterpump
Seems reasonable. As with any pump there is a (small) risk of seizure due to wear, or a cracking of the plastic impellor.
How much should you be paying for a Twinny waterpump by the way?
I wouldn't advise that.
A failing variator has a negative effect on MPG.
It should really be changed, but if the owner has just done a full belt change, what do you do? Thats the cost of two belt changes plus a variator, which is mega expensive..
