Motor Control System Failure - Go to Dealer
Two questions or maybe three.
I got this dreaded message yesterday, three years to the day after my car was first registered. I reported it to my dealer immediately mentioning in the conversation that the warranty was due to expire at midnight. They replied that it had expired at midnight on the 29th. Are they right?
Be that as it may, I had the same message 6 months ago, minutes after driving the car off the dealer's premises following its 36k service. They fixed it under the warranty but I assume that the work will be guaranteed for 12 months in which case they should do it for free regardless of whether the warranty had expired or not. Or could it be an unrelated fault?
The last point is that my dealer has been utterly inept at identifying faults with the suspension and climate control despite me telling them exactly what the problems were and I am reluctant to let them touch my car again. Does this latest problem sound like one that any competent autoelectrician could sort out quickly and cheaply?
