Re: 147 2.0 TS Selespeed advice
OMG i just realised, its you wimmy!!!!!
do the bravo lot know about this?
usually i'd stay out the selespeed issue, but as its you i feel i should say something.
how do i say this, erm.... dont buy it! selespeed is fine when its working, but a bloody nightmare when it isnt. have a read of the many hundreds of selespeed threads to see why, and if you feel you want to take the risk after that then go for it, but at least be sure of what you're getting yourself in to.
if the current owner doesnt know what the oil consumption is, i'd be worred. every responsible TS owner checks weekly and tops us whenever neccessary. low oil kills the TS, and even a good example will burn a fair bit of oil so it can easily happen if neglected for a few weeks.
moving from bravo to 147 will be easy for you, the 147 is just a restyled bravo with double wishbones, all else is very very similar, but the selespeed and TS are definately issues you need to be familiar with before you get one. the bravo's 20v is a very easy engine to live with in comparison, and selespeed is a significantly increased risk.
