Re: battery reversed

just been speaking to mechanic about the reversed polarity thing and he said i should of tried connecting the battery the right way round and just flashing the earth strap on the battery. he said sometimes this can force the alternator to changing it's polarity back again. does this sound right. i'd be a bit miffed if i could of done that instead of going through what i have over the past couple of days.

Re: battery reversed

How much simpler things used to be years ago. I changed my Mk 1 Cortina from positive to negative earth so I could fit a tacho off a later model. I just had to turn the battery round and flash the live. Then change the LT connections to the ignition coil. Job done.
