Re: 156 jtd.
The ideal car for you depends on many things... Your budget, annual mileage, driving style, need for economy, running costs...
Everyone's natural response is "get a 2.4 20v, they're great". Well, they are, but thay're also like hens teeth & hold good prices as a result. They're 2004 on. They're not as cheap to run as...
The 1.9 16v (150bhp) which is a good engine (Fiat made, used by Alfa/Vauxhall/Saab too)... not as gutsy as any 2.4, but good for cheap miles (and lots of them). They're 2004 model on in the UK too (i.e late 2003 on).
Up to 2003, you only had the 2.4 10v in the UK, with either 136/140/150 bhp depending on how new it is. Good cars, excellent value (from £1500 for a 2000 example up to about £3500 for a 2002/3 one).
Re. mileages, I'm on 126,110 miles right at this moment, there are many JTD drivers on more.
