Re: 156 jts long time to warm up and sits below 70deg
sorry to Hijack your thread Biffa but does anyone have any advise on what else can cause the engine not to get up to temp properly other than the thermostat?
I recently had a recon engine fitted and realised that the temp was not staying at 90 and dropping to 70\80 when driving and going over 100 when in traffic.
I took the car back and was charged to have a new Thermostat fitted. I just assumed the problem had gone away but it seems the engine takes a long time to warm up and sticks at around 80.
The temperature slowly rises to\above 90 and then all of a sudden falls very quickly down to 75/80 where it starts rising again.
I'm worried that whatever killed my old engine is still at work on the new one as all the ancillaries etc where simply transfered.
The radiator fans were not working at all at first, managed to get the second 'mode' of the fan going but i think i need a new resisor. Ive just not had enough time recently to get to the bottom of it.
