Leaky Hedlight Washers - Facelift Model

My first post on this site after upgrading my 146 to a 156.

I know there a lots of items about this but none seem to explain why mine are leaking.

Anyway I've got a (New) 2005 Malaysian 156 Selespeed - Its a Twinspark model (ideal for the Prins gas conversion I've had fitted)and it was a bargain. Its got the pop-up head light washers and they have been dripping since I got the car in December. Empties the bottle in two days and make my garage very wet!

Right, so I looked at it and thought that it could be the Y piece splitter / valve behind the bumper has failed. Took it off, blew through it, no valve like function. Eurica! it needs a new one. Look at the parts list Old 156 valve sold seperatly; New 156 sold with pipes. Looks the same in the picture so I order the old one (22) Pick it up absolutely nothing like my one; a third of th size. OK, so the pop-up washers most use more pressure hence bigger splitter / valve. So i order the one for the facelift model (33 ) I suppose it does come with a peice of hose!

Anyway picked it up last week and blew threw one end expecting some sought of valve type action. It just an extremely expensive hose with a Y junction

So why are my washers leaking; What is suppose to stop them leaking? Are there valves in the pop-up bits? Or have I bought a hose that should really be a valve?

Any know how there are suppose to work?

My air bag light has just come on too! Well its done nearly 1400km now.

As an aside to anyone else whose bought one these Malyasian jobs; I successfully managed to get the Tax band changed from G to F and they gave me 100 back
