looking for cd player for 147

Hi my cd player has packed up this morning , no cds can be inserted , looks as if the guards that pop up once you have a cd have locked .
Have taken it out and tried reseting it but no joy.
Anyone got one for sale or know a reliable parts supplier , saw one on ebay but now there arent any. Drive up and down the M5 a lot and the radio is going to do my head in.

Re: looking for cd player for 147

you can just get any old head unit you want & then a fascia adaptor too and it'll fit in and work..
You may lose steering wheel button functionality though.. depends on the head unit as to whether it's supported or not. You'll probably get a better sound out of an aftermarket head unit though.

Re: looking for cd player for 147

I bought a new head unit and fachia because the original CD player jumped at the slightest bump (not good considering the hard suspension on the 147). I bought a Sony CDX in the end which is compatible with my i-pod. I had the steering wheel stalk controller thrown in, along with an i-pod converter (so that I can choose playlists etc from the head-unit). All in, including the stereo, the converter, the new fascia and fitting it cost about £250. Not cheap, but well worth it. The only slight downside was that I lost my cup-holder/ card tray below the original stereo. This was replaced with a plastic shelf of sorts.....
