The car is my sons ***** 156 2.5 V6 and it just stopped. The nice AA man said "Ohh that 'll be expensive" as he towed him home! I am pretty convinced that work done by a freind changing the alternator has caused the auxiliary belt to break up and interfere with the timing belt as nothing works and there are signs of bits of belt inside the timing casing. The questions are 1. Would the valves have hit the piston crowns? (no black smoke no loud noise) 2. Where/what are the timing marks to check the situation - I have an electronic manual but cannot find this information. 3. What is the firing order (142536?) and where does inlet/exhaust open in relation to TDC.
I know this is a lot to ask but I'm somewhat stumped.
MAny thanks any who can assist. Botanybay
