156 foglights

I've just invested in a couple of replacement front foglights for my 156, to replace two which do work, but with cracked lenses (one's even missing a bit of glass), and was just wondering if anyone could tell me if it's an easy job for the congenitally cack-handed such as myself.
I'd also be grateful to hear any opinions on replacing the headlight dipped bulbs with something better, and if so, what, as mine are as dim as the proverbial Toc H lamp. (For the more mature reader!!).

Many thanks

Re: 156 foglights

I believe they can be a nightmare to change. Not because it's particularly complicated, but because they're so hard to get at.
Removing the wheel, and possibly the wheel arch liner might help a lot?

Re: 156 foglights

They are a piece of cake to change... just need s screwdriver and a bit of patience....

The front surround comes off with 1 or 2 screws and a gentle pull on the clip.

You don't need to take out the wheel arch liner or even have to jack up the car! I changed both front fogs on my last 156 in about 30 mins.

The only problem you may have is rusty screws. Also.. be gentle on the plastic that the unit screws into as it isnt that strong.

Re: 156 foglights

Thanks very much, OperationAlfa. I'm encouraged by your opening line. The screwdriver I can manage, it's just the patience I might be lacking in. But I'll give it a go. Pull gently, you said!!
Wish me luck.

Re: 156 foglights

I agree with OperationAlfa, they are easy to change. 1 screw for the surround and 2 screws for the lamp itself. No need to remove bumpers, wheelarch liners etc. Not on the 156 anyhow.
