Will 156 selespeed actuator fit 147?

Hello all,

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but I certainly couldn't find it if it has. My 147 selespeed actuator is knackered (gears flashing & not selecting properly, randomly jumping) and my mechanic told me to find one as they retail at about 950 quid + VAT.

I've found a few and the cheapest is from a 156 2001 2.0 which is the same year and engine as my 147. I understand the only difference between the two actuators in general is the connection to the gearbox and my mechanic reckons this shouldn't be an issue but I just wondered whether anyone can back this up? The last thing I want to do is buy an actuator which doesn't fit and then have to buy another one!

Thanks in advance

Yes the connection to the box is the difference.
But both types were used in both the 156 & 147.

There is not a 156 type and a 147 type.
