I have recently bought a '99 1.8TS 156 from a mate for £1100 (I know, I know - never buy from mates or family!
). Anyway, there were a few minor things about it that were bothering me - so I took it to an Alfa service place near Portobello Market - Lombarda Alfa, for a basic check over and service. They came back with some things that need doing that I have since discovered, from reading this forum, are pretty common.
1. Rear suspension posterior arms both need replacing. (Is this dangerous to leave it any length of time?)
2. Front nearside wheel bearing needs replacing. (I have begun hearing rumbling noises just today when at full lock manoeuvring into a parking space)
3. Front brake discs are corroded and need replacing (although the braking feels great at the mo)
4. Radiator is corroded and needs replacing.
I am going to get all the work carried out, but I know that maintaining Alfas can be expensive, but what would be a rough estimate as to how much all of this should cost?
Ta in advance for any advice you guys can give. Also, does anyone know anything much about Lombarda or anywhere else recommendable in London for getting the work done?
