156 o/s rear side light not working

hi all

I am having problems on the o/s rear side light. it does not work properly it either does not work or comes on dimley
we have check through the seach option an it seems that you think that the common failure is the rev counter/bulb failure unit
i have noticed that both left and right side light fuses are live all the time unlike other cars which only become live when the switch is operated
we have traced the pink and yellow wire from the o/s rear side light down to the connection point under dash on l/h passenger side where it changes colour to red and yellow but are unable to find where it goes, does it then go to the rev counter or elsewhere

any help would be greatfully recieved

ill have to go home know but will check back after tea

thanks phill

Re: 156 o/s rear side light not working

Goodmoning all

im back on the trail of low power supply. the threads that i have read seem to point to the rev counter only when the offending side light stays on all the time allbeit it dim, but ours has got 12.4v there only when the lights are switched on but not enogh power to light up the bulb even dimly we have tested it and know it is a supply voltage issue if we probe with direct voltage from the battery right up to the connector at the passengerside front under glove box it works ok we have checked the earths and they are good at the light (the bulb failure light is on)

does any one have a wiring diagram for the side lights so we can follow circuit back behind the dash

thank in advance phillw
