Re: I am looking at buying a reposession 147 with no keys
I lost my 1 and only key for my 156 last year, it cost me all in 260 euro (including coding), so 400 stg for two keys sounds about right, the key did have to come from Italy but I was only waiting a few days.
2 Points to note here.
The Keys comes with a paper card which has an emergency start code on it, this enables you to start the car by turning the key and pressing on the trottle, counting the times the ecu light comes on the dash in relation to the code, you do this about nine times if I remember correctly. It took me about for efforts to get it.
You will need to do this if you dont want to pay for a recovery truck to transport the car from wherever you are buying it from to the dealers for coding.
If the car has an alarm/centeral locking combo, and the alarm fob was on the missing keys this may effect your centeral locking. More money.
Oh yeah, time your booking with the dealer, with the time you expect to arrive and leave the car running, or you will have to do the emergency start thing again.
A couple of months later my friend found my keys behind a flower pot in his garden. I had put them there for 'safe keeping' as I was too drunk to drive home!
