147 Rear Door Problem

My wife owns a 55 plate facelift 147 5 door and has managed to break the near side rear exterior door handle?????!!!!!!! this is the best bit....the child lock is on so the door cannot be opened from the inside or the outside.......can someone lease advise me on the best action to take (on the car that is), i am quite mechanically minded but this ones got me??

Errrm, Ask a scouser?
Only joking, I take it there are no bits of mechanism left of the handle you could get at with a pair of long nose pliers?

Another way would try to get in Via the door card from the inside. It wont be easy as the door is shut!

Another way might be to drop the window and have a fish through the gap in the direction of the handle/lock mechanism with a coathanger.

Good luck and hope you dont have to break anything else to get it open!

Wouldn't have thought it'd be possible to get the door card off when the door is shut, as some of the screws are along the side and bottom edges.

You've got a tricky one there.
