Just cleaned my EGR valve - 2.4JTD 136bhp
Was locked out of the house today and only had keys to the garage so thought I'd kill an hour by having a go at cleaning my EGR valve.
It was a peice of cake. Plenty of WD40, removed the vacuum pipe, undid the 2 bolts that attach it to the pipe (to the inlet manifold) then the 2 bolts to the manifold. It probably only took 5 mins to get off.
I cleaned it with an old bottle brush and light solvent. Liberal dose of WD40 and copper grease inside and stuck it back on. Total 15 mins.
The difference is incredible, mountains more touque from idle to 4000rpm. I didn't even realise I had a problem with my EGR.
There are so many threads about it on here but very few with a result at the end. So here you go.
Do yours today!
