Is this how to remove egr valve (1.9JTDM) ?
I have been advised to remove my egr valve in an attempt to cure my problem of no torque below 2500rpm (. I am going to do it tomorrow, would this be the correct procedure to remove (or deactivate) the valve.
1. Remove the complete complete egr solenoid valve unit from the intake chamber and inlet pipe from heat exchanger.
2. Add a thin blanking plate between the egr solenoid valve and the intake chamber.
3. Add a thin blanking plate between the egr solenoid valve unit and the pipe from heat exchanger (could I skip this step as the gas flow is alread blocked by step 2 ?)
4. Electrical connector remains connected to the egr solenoid valve ?
If the above is correct, I guess an alternative is to remove the complete egr solenoid valve and somehow cap the holes in the intake chamber and pipe from the heat exchanger.
I would be grateful if someone could just let me know if my plnned procedure is correct. Thanks
