Excuse my ignorance, but what difference does the Q2 make? What does it do?
I thought it was about time I caught up on the threads and this one is close to my heart.
Been driving the GT Q2 Blackline now since early March and have taken it relatively easy. I'd been used to caning my RX8 but that had to be caned to get the best out of it.
The GT is totally different to drive and has great mid range torque, which is what was totally lacking in the RX8.
I've never really noticed the benefits of the Q2 until this week. I was quite happily tootling along the A46 from Lincoln to Nottingham and I noticed a GT behind me (Are you out there mr private reg GT? I was in the GT JTD plated Blackline. I think it was Tues. 13th). I don't know what came over me but I felt the need to hammer the roundabouts every chance I got just so we could both have a bit of a play.
On one of the early roundabouts I screamed past a truck and was waiting for the GT behind to follow but noticed that the truck changed its mind and went round to the next junction without indicating - nearly took the GT with him.
Later on I hit a roundabout a bit too fast, but still knocked it down a gear and floored it - what a rush. It just stuck to the road and felt much better than the RX8 ever did. It pushed the power to the correct wheel and switched the power over really smooth when I flicked it to opposite camber to get off the roundabout..
Later on I carried on the A52 to Nottingham and noticed my new best friend was peeling off along the A46 to Leicester. It looked to me that someone nearly took him out on that roundabout aswell.
That was my first proper use of the Q2 and I've got to say it felt fookin luvverly. It's given me much more confidence in the car's abilities.
I'm hoping to have another play soon when the roads aren't too busy and I'm not having to listen to sat nav, talk on my phone and eat my butties!!!!! (only kidding)
