Re: Alfa 147 Selespeed fault
pyrean, I think your in the ball park, 20 Amps is a hell of a lot to get the pump going, I've just checked a friends and when the pump kicks in the volatge across the battery drops by 0.1V and the draw of the pump on start is 4 Amps, which drops to 2 Amps as it runs. I'd suspect the new pump is at fault. But most of all I hope this garage has accepted liability for thier attendants neglect and is covering the bill.
BTW, Castrol TQ Dexron III is what I always use in Selespeeds, it is also (under a different name) what is used in 80% of the worlds aircraft hydraulic systems.
The actuator will need to have that leak fixed too, I dare say there may be corrosion inside there, which would basically scrap it and those aint cheap, here for a recon your looking at £400 to £500 I don't know what that is in third world goats, but if it was my car then that little git with the watering can would be paying.
