156 Air Filter Assembly and Tube

My airbox contains a cylinder filter (no surprise there!) but also a shaped tube which I assume is designed to smooth out the airflow over the MAF. Sadly in my air box the tube is floating around loose in the middle of the filter (which can't be right!). I assume it should be located in some way what but I am a loss to see how it can be fitted in. I suspect that I'm missing a piece in the box somewhere. Please can anyone provide a diagram and description of how this tube should be fitted securely inside the airbox.
Many thanks.

Re: 156 Air Filter Assembly and Tube

This tube you are talking about sounds a bit like the airbox cone. It should sit in the neck of the air box pointing downwards. Its not fixed in by anything though.

Its there as part of the tuned intake manifold system. Some people have removed them altogether, but in my experience the car ran better with it fitted.
