Re: 166ti to Audi A4 3.0 to 156 diesel
Go for a facelift model, the 2.4 facelift was a 20valve and 175bhp.
1.9 came in 8 or 16valves on a facelift, again, go for the 16valve.
Go for the veloce model with leather also.
You will easily find a 1.9 multijet well within budget on a facelift, the 2.4's demand a little more money. Add 500-700quid for sportwagon, add 500 for a veloce with leather.
I saw a facelift 1.9 multijet veloce without leather go through auction, only 38k, sold for 3600.
If you don't mind buying at auction, then they can't even give the things away, cambelts, bushes, suspension arms and clutches are always a scare for the trade.
That said, I have seen punters in the auction houses paying over the top for 156 jtd's, they think they are geting a bargain, you need to be buying way under book, that way you can cover all the bits that are worn out and still bag a bargain.
