Oil vapour regulation valve question

Hi all,

The hose on the underside of the oil vapor regulation valve on my 1.9 diesel is very oily, specifically only in this area - the oil does not seem to be coming from anywhere else.

I am guessing this is just a poor fit of the hose onto the valve but my question is:

If this valve is not working correctly, what would be the effect to the engine ?

Re: Oil vapour regulation valve question

depends if it stuck open or shut.

stuck shut means lack of crankcase ventilation, leading to dirty oil and in some rare cases localised overheating.

stuck open means slight loss of power at full throttle due to a lack of oxygen.
