yes, it is likely. If it's a constant quiet squeak then the belt may be too tight, this will also start to fail bearings in other components in the run, Alternator, PS pump, AC pump (if fitted). Just get it loosened a little.
IF it 's a high pitch squeal, then the belts too loose, just get it tightened up properly.
But there are other things in that end of the engine that squeal as they start to fail, the cambelt tensioner for example and the Idler, niether of which are a pleasent experience when they let go.
When the Aux belt is correctly tensioned youcan grab it on the longest free run and rotate it 90 degrees, any more then it's loose and vice versa.
